Meet our Pastors
And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers – Ephesians 4:11

Bishop Lewis obtained his Local license from the UPCI in 1986. He received his General license in 1995, and was Ordained May 3, 2001 by the General Superintendent of the IL District, UPCI by Rev. Earnest Breithaupt.
On June 12, 2001 he leased a small space in a local shopping center for the church in Springfield, IL called New Beginnings Apostolic Church of Springfield. It is still going strong today.
After diligently commuting and ministering in Springfield, he returned to Decatur to start another church because he constantly met people who expressed a desire for a Bible study. In June 2006, he began having services in his home and New Beginnings Apostolic Church of Decatur was born. Bishop Lewis preached and taught Bible studies in his home for approximately 2 years. The church then moved into a rented office building for almost another 2 years.
In April 2010 New Beginnings Apostolic Church of Decatur purchased a church building at 1549 E. Locust Street in Decatur, IL where Bishop Lewis continued pastoring until November 2019 when the mantle passed to his son and assistant in the ministry, Pastor Marcus Lewis.
